Question 81: To ask the Minister for Finance if he, acting on behalf of the Irish Government and independently of the Irish Central Bank Governor, has made his views known to the European Central Bank about its interest rate policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25513/11]

The determination of interest rate policy is solely a matter for the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, which is independent in these matters. It would not, therefore, be appropriate for me to intervene in that process.
