Question 216: To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who did not receive correspondence indicated in the context of a reply to a recent parliamentary question and did not sign any such correspondence; if it might be possible to reissue the subject documents; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's Question refers to a reply I gave to a recent Parliamentary Question in relation to the case of the person concerned. However, it is not clear what specific Parliamentary Question the Deputy is referring to. In the absence of specific information in this regard, I am unable to provide the Deputy with a substantive response to his current Question.
It is open to the Deputy to revert with the number and date of the earlier Parliamentary Question he is referring to and upon receipt of this information I will endeavour to provide the Deputy with a detailed response. I should remind the Deputy that queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to INIS by Email using the Oireachtas Mail facility which has been specifically established for this purpose. The service enables up-to-date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek this information through the more administratively expensive Parliamentary Questions process.
