The amounts paid to medical practitioners in respect of medical certificates and reports required to support claims for illness benefit and other medical-related payments made by the Department are as follows: 2007 €26.8M 2008 €30.4M 2009 €30.3M 2010 €28.7M It is not possible to distinguish between payments made to general practitioners and payments made to other medical practitioners.
