Question 231: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the allocations that were made by local authority from the Local Government Fund in 2010 and 2011; if account will be taken for 2012 of the 2011 census of population changes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I assume the Question refers to General Purpose Grants paid to local authorities out of the Local Government Fund. In relation to the basis for the 2012 allocations, this will be determined in line with the level of funding available, and it will be my objective to ensure that General Purpose Grant funding continues to make a significant contribution towards enabling local authorities to provide a reasonable level of services to the public.
The 2010 and 2011 GPG allocations are detailed in the table below.
