Applications for redundancy/partial redundancy for Special Needs Assistants are being received by my Department on an ongoing basis. Applications are processed in date order of receipt. Every effort is being made to process these applications as quickly as possible.

Question 107: To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who has applied to his Department for compensation for loss of hours; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this person has been informed that it will take 12 months for their claim to be processed; his plans to ensure these claims will be processed promptly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that an application for partial redundancy has been received by my Department from the person referred to by the Deputy.

Applications for redundancy are being received on an ongoing basis and are processed in date order of receipt. I can assure the Deputy that my Department is making every effort to process redundancy applications as quickly as possible. The application in question will be dealt with as soon as possible.
