The organisation in question made submissions to my Department outlining concerns for children who go missing and proposals to disseminate a child abuse awareness and prevention information package to the Irish public. The issue of children who go missing is primarily a matter for the Garda Síochána and my Department is currently involved in discussions with other relevant Government Departments in relation to the establishment of a hotline for missing children.
As regards the dissemination of child abuse awareness and prevention material the Children First Guidelines for the Welfare and Protection of Children, are being revised with a view to their re-publication in the near future.
