Question 157: To ask the Minister for Education and Skills his views that the State examination papers should be a model for promotion of gender equality in their content and his further views that this year's examination papers carried texts and imagery that showed gender equality. [19543/11]

The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations including preparing examination papers and other examination materials, organising the holding of examinations, determining procedures in places where examinations are conducted including the supervision of examinations and making arrangements for the marking of work presented for examination.
