Question 138: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will accommodate farmers who are successful under the dairy equipment scheme by allowing for a later date for completion and payment of these works than the proposed date of end of 2011 to allow for difficult planning, financial and construction processes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the terms of the Dairy Equipment Scheme, successful applicants will have two years from the date of issue of approval to complete the investment works concerned.

The Deputy will be aware that it is a standard condition of all on-farm investment schemes that work must not have commenced prior to the issue of written approval by my Department.
