Question 115: To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if he will consider engaging with Allied Irish Banks in an effort to encourage wider public access to their extensive and significant collection of art with a view to placing pieces on permanent display in public institutions including municipal galleries; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Allied Irish Banks Plc has gathered a considerable collection of art. The Bank is actively engaged with my Department to review its lending policy and to explore other means by which the public might have greater access to the collection. My Department will continue with that process.
