Question 244: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government his plans to review the legislation regarding anti-social behaviour of persons in receipt of rent allowance and the rental accommodation scheme in line with the powers that exist in respect of local authority tenants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Rent Supplement is an income support scheme operated by the Department of Social Protection in respect of persons in private rented accommodation and I have no plans to review the legislation applicable to the behaviour of such tenants.

In regard to accommodation let under availability agreements under Chapter 4 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009, providing for the Rental Accommodation Scheme, the position is that it is intended to commence the relevant provisions in this legislation before the end of the year.
