Question 345: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number of filling stations and supermarkets that have been prosecuted for selling cigarettes to persons aged under 18 years for the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and to date in 2011; and the frequency with which premises are inspected to ensure they are in full compliance with legislation. The Health Service Executive is responsible for enforcement of the tobacco legislation, including inspections and prosecutions taken as a result of non-compliance with the legislation. Accordingly, I have referred the matter to the HSE for direct reply.
