Question 329: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the removal of a drug (details supplied) from the Health Service Executive's drugs payment scheme and the negative effect that this decision is having on many patients nationwide; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The medicinal product mentioned by the Deputy is not a licensed product and therefore is not eligible for reimbursement under the GMS or community drugs schemes. Neither the HSE nor the Department of Health and Children has a role in whether a company applies to the Irish Medicines Board to obtain such a licence.
