Question 202: To ask the Minister for Social Protection further to Parliamentary Question No. 79 of 12 May 2011, if she will review the case in view of the fact that the person has already indicated to the supplementary welfare allowance section that they do not have the means to meet their bills, that they are in arrears with their mortgage, that they are too ill to cope and that they require immediate financial assistance; and if she will expedite the case. The position remains as advised in Question No. 79 which was answered for the Deputy on 12 May 2011. The Health Service Executive (HSE), who decide on all entitlements under the supplementary welfare allowance scheme, has advised that if the person concerned is experiencing exceptional financial difficulties then they should contact the community welfare officer at his local health centre.
