Progress in relation to the implementation of the Croke Park Agreement Action Plans in my Department and its non-commercial semi-state agencies has been reported up to end-Quarter 1 2011 showing good progress and savings being made.
While the most substantial savings have been achieved through the reduction in the pay bill associated with reductions in numbers (with estimated savings of approximately €2 million), a number of non-pay savings have also been identified. These relate mainly to efficiencies through Information Communications Technology improvements which amount to approximately €350,000.
My Department has indicated to the Implementation Body that a small number of actions are behind schedule. In each instance work is continuing to progress these actions notwithstanding the delay in meeting the original targets.
