Question 662: To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the specific proposals in the Programme for Government for which he is responsible; the target dates which he has agreed in relation to the delivery of these proposals; and if he will publish an implementation schedule. [9592/11]

I am responsible for the Transport, Tourism and Sport element of the Programme for Government. I am currently considering how best these aims can be achieved in the current difficult economic climate.
In relation to investment, there will be a comprehensive review of spending with a view to developing a new National Development Plan for 2012-2017. This review, which will take place against a background of the new funding realities, will examine the costs and benefits of all projects against a range of economic, social and environmental criteria. Key considerations for transport,tourism and sport will include the need to prioritise funding to protect investment made to date and to maintain high safety standards
