Question 561: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the current procurement procedures operated by the Health Service Executive; if those seeking to tender for purchase of supplies or supply of services are allowed to make offers in respect of individual items or if tenderers are encouraged to group or amalgamate the supply of items, goods or services, which could affect both competition and quality; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue of procurement procedures operated by the Health Service Executive (HSE) is a matter for the HSE. My Department has requested the HSE to reply directly to the Deputy.
