I propose to take Questions Nos. 549 and 638 together.

The Government is committed to a review of the Mental Health Act 2001. The review, which it is planned will commence later this year, will be informed by a human rights approach. My Department has already engaged the Health Research Board to undertake research into human rights based legislation in other jurisdictions. A wide ranging consultation will be undertaken as part of the review, where my Department will seek the views of the public, relevant stakeholders and other interested groups.
