The names of those seeking to transfer to various offices in my Department, including that in Donegal Town, are recorded on the relevant transfer list. They are added to when a member of staff applies for a transfer.
The transfer lists are only referenced when a vacancy, fillable by transfer, arises. The person placed highest on the list, who is deemed suitable for transfer, is contacted to confirm his/her continued interest in the particular location. If the person confirms his/her interest and the transfer goes ahead, no other people on the list are contacted until such time as a further fillable vacancy arises.
