The CAO is a private (not-for-profit) company and receives no State funding. The higher education institutions have delegated to the CAO the task of processing centrally applications for admission to their first year undergraduate courses. My Department has no role to play in relation to the operation of the CAO.

It is my understanding that it is not possible for a third party to seek to make changes to any individual's application. However, individual applicants may change their personal information by contacting the CAO either online or in writing. Personal changes submitted in paper form should be sent to CAO, Tower House, Eglinton Street, Galway. Changes submitted in paper form will be acknowledged by the CAO in the form of a Statement of Application Record. Online changes should be made by using the 'Contact Us' facility on the CAO website www.cao.ie. Changes submitted online will be acknowledged through the e-mail address supplied by the applicant.
