1The Home Energy Savings Scheme which is administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland is available to owners of homes built before 2006, including landlords and owners of multiple properties. The scheme provides grants of up to 40% of the typical cost of upgrade measures, including roof insulation, wall insulation, boiler upgrades and heating control upgrades. There are no plans to increase the maximum grant allocation under this programme. The grant levels set are considered to be optimal given the level of energy savings that can be realised from their implementation, and represent the most cost-effective use of available budgetary resources.
