The most recent readily available statistics relate to the strength of each Divisional Drug Unit as of 28th February 2011 and these are set out in the table. It should be noted that Divisional drug units are supported in their operations by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit, the strength of which was 52 on the same date.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that on the latest date for which figures were readily available, there were 160 scenes of crime examiners. The following table provides the Garda personnel qualified as Scenes of Crime Examiners in each Garda Division nationwide.
