I am informed by the Garda authorities, that as of the latest date for which figures are readily available, the personnel strength of An Garda Síochána was 14,364. The National Recovery Plan 2011 - 2014 outlines a reduction in the strength of An Garda Síochána to 13,000 by the end of 2014.
