Department of Finance
Question 207: To ask the Minister for Finance if the Consumer Advisory Group provided for in the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 has been established; if so if he will provide details of the persons appointed to this group; if he will confirm if the group has met; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3928/11]
Under the Central Bank Reform Act 2010, the Central Bank of Ireland is responsible for appointing members to the Consumer Advisory Group. The Central Bank Reform Act 2010 commenced on 1 October 2010.
I have been informed by the Central Bank that it advertised in November 2010 inviting applicants for the Consumer Advisory Group and that the appointment process is ongoing. I understand that it is planned to announce the names of the members of the inaugural Consumer Advisory Group at the end of January.
