I did not make any external telephone calls on the night of 29 September and early morning of 30 September 2008 to seek advice in relation to the bank guarantee or other options for resolving the banking crisis. However, I did make telephone calls to the following people to advise them of the bank guarantee:
Irish Ambassador to France
Ms. Christine Lagarde, Minister for Finance, France
Irish Ambassador to UK
Mr. Alistair Darling, Chancellor of the Exchequer, UK
Monsieur Jean-Claude Trichet, President, European Central Bank.
