There are no civilian drivers employed on behalf of the current Minister of State at my Department. A former Minister of State at my Department, Mr Seán Power, T.D., employed two civilian drivers during his tenure at my Department from May 2008 to April 2009. These drivers were paid a salary of € 33,713 and € 33,866 respectively for that period.

Minister of State Power was paid €17,723 in 2008 and €16,054 in 2009 in respect of mileage allowance.

I am not aware of any familial relationship between former Minister of State Power and his civilian drivers.
