The Department had no major advertising campaigns during 2010 and there were no production or consultancy costs incurred. General office notices such as office closures and staff vacancies were placed in newspapers. Newspaper advertisements were also placed inviting submissions in relation to the Review of Regulations made under the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act 2009 and on proposals regarding Gender Recognition. The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance was advertised in a number of targeted newspaper supplements/features. The total cost of advertising for 2010 incurred by my Department was in the region of €155,000.
