Question 268: To ask the Minister for Finance if he will report on the revenue generated by the carbon tax in 2010; if he will outline the spending of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1103/11]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners the revenue received from the carbon tax is €246.5 million in 2010. The breakdown by each fuel type between the carbon tax and the estimated VAT is as follows: The revenue will, amongst other things, be used to boost energy efficiency, to support rural transport and to alleviate fuel poverty.
