The Warmer Homes Scheme (WHS) is administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) on behalf of my Department to provide energy efficiency improvements to homes in, or at risk of, fuel poverty. The scheme is primarily delivered by 28 community based organisations (CBOs) who identify and address vulnerable homes in partnership with their local network of poverty and community support organisations, including public health nurses, MABS and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.

The WHS scheme will be funded in 2011 under the National Retrofit Programme, which will encompass and build upon the existing energy efficiency and renewable energy programmes over the course of the year.
