Question 182: To ask the Minister for Justice and Law Reform if he will detail for each of the years 1999 up to and including the year 2010 with regard to the Garda Síochána, the number of chief superintendents, superintendents and inspectors on the Garda Force and the projected number as at the 1 January 2011. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the personnel strength of each of the ranks referred to by the Deputy, as at 31 December 1999 - 2009, and 30 September 2010, the latest date for which figures are readily available, is set out in the table below. I am further informed that as of 10 December 2010, 2 Chief Superintendents, 9 Superintendents and 9 Inspectors have either retired or declared their intention to retire between 1 October 2010 and 31 December 2010.
