The exact information requested by the Deputy is not available. The Farm Structure Survey provides regional estimates and the following table shows the latest figures for the South-East region in June 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2007 (the latest year currently available).

The South-East region comprises counties Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford. Figures at county level are only available from the 2000 Census of Agriculture. There were 2,800 farms in County Waterford on 1June 2000; on 1,700 of these, farmwork was the owner's sole occupation. The 2010 Census of Agriculture took place on June 1st 2010. Results from the Census
will be compiled and published in mid-late 2012.
