Both the Beef and Sheepmeat Fund and the Dairy Investment Fund are financed by the Exchequer. No EU funding is involved. The Funds were announced by my Department and promoted by Enterprise Ireland through engagement with the respective industries. Applications for both funds were carefully considered and all eligible projects were assessed and evaluated according to strict commercial and technical criteria by an expert committee comprising members from my Department, Enterprise Ireland, Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Bord Bia, industry and academic experts.
