Under the operation of the Work Placement Programme, the costs associated with the programme relate to the fact that participants maybe entitled to maintain their social welfare entitlements subject to the rules and regulations of the Department of Social Protection, while they participate on the programme.

In advance of applying for a place on the programme all potential participants are informed that participation on the programme is voluntary and unpaid.
