Question 495: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of applications received from north Tipperary under the traditional farm buildings scheme; the number of same applications that have been processed and approved and those awaiting decision; the amount of grant aid being paid in total to applicants from the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme is part of the Rural Environment Protection Scheme and is operated on my Department's behalf by the Heritage Council. Thirty-five applications have been received from North Tipperary. All 35 have now been processed. Seven have been approved and one is pending approval; the rest have been rejected. Successful applicants have until early Autumn 2011 to complete works and will not be eligible for payment until this is done.
