Question 289: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the amount of funding spent in 2009 and 2010 by his Department on Irish language training for public servants; the number of persons that participated in Irish language training courses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has spent €4,560.73 in 2009 and €1,755 to date in 2010 on Irish language training for staff. 63 staff members attended Irish language training funded or facilitated by the Department over this period.
