Question 396: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of staff that have decentralised to Portlaoise as part of the current decentralisation programme; the number of staff that were already in Portlaoise prior to this programme and the total number of departmental staff now in Portlaoise; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The original Government decision on the decentralisation of my Department provided for the decentralisation of some 600 headquarter posts to Portlaoise. Since the decentralisation programme began some 300 posts in my Department have been decentralised bringing the total there to almost 500 posts.
