Question 50: To ask the Minister for Finance when his attention was first drawn to the fact that €15 million in cash held by Anglo Irish Bank as security against loans to a person (details supplied) has been moved to act as security against other loans owed by family members of that person; the steps he has taken to ensure that the taxpayers' interests were protected in these transactions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will appreciate this matter relates to a specific individual as such I am obliged to respect all clients' confidential relationships with their respective banks. Therefore I am unable to disclose this specific information.
The Deputy will be aware that the financial affairs of the individual referred to are currently subject to Court proceedings and as such it would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment on the matter.
