Question 175: To ask the Minister for Health and Children her plans to set up a local podiatry service in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath as part of the national foot-screening programme, in view of the fact that more than €1 million was spent in County Westmeath treating preventable diabetic foot disease between 2005 and 2009 and foot screening can reduce diabetic foot disease by 50% according to international research; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
