Question 180: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number of qualified audiologists available to service the Health Service Executive South area; the centres visited by audiologists and the frequency; the number of persons on the waiting list for audiological services and the average waiting period; the age profile of those on the waiting list; if priority treatment is allocated on age grounds; if she will confirm that financial assistance is available for qualifying patients in respect of the purchase of hearing aids; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
