Question 265: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number of persons diagnosed with eating disorders here in each of the past five years, broken down by age and gender in tabular form; if she has reviewed the consequences eating disorder problems have for both the patient and the health service; her plans to address this problem; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Statistics on the number of persons diagnosed with eating disorders are not routinely collected by my Department. 'A Vision for Change' makes a number of recommendations in relation to the services for people with eating disorders. The implementation of 'A Vision for Change' is the responsibility of the Health Service Executive. Your question has been referred to the HSE for direct reply.
