As the Deputy may be aware, planning permission was recently granted for the new school building to which the Deputy refers.
A letter of intent issued to the preferred bidder recently. Once the preferred bidder has satisfied the required terms and conditions and submitted the necessary documentation to the Department, assuming no issues arise, the contracts will be signed and the project can progress to construction.
Due to commercial sensitivities, it is not possible to give details of costs at this stage.

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the project to which he refers is currently out to tender. Due to commercial sensitivities it is not possible to give details of costs at this stage.
The closing date for receipt of tenders is 16th July. When the tenders are returned, the Design Team will be required to prepare a tender report and submit a copy to my Department for approval.
Following completion of the tender phase, assuming no issues arise, the contract will be awarded and the project will progress to construction.
