On 15 June 2010, the person concerned was refused Carer's Allowance on the grounds that the persons being cared for do not require full time care and attention. He was notified of this decision, the reasons for it and of his right of review or appeal to the Social Welfare Appeals Office.
The spouse of the person concerned was in receipt of Carer's Benefit in respect of the same care recipients for the period 11/9/08 to 21/4/10. A decision on the medical eligibility of the care recipients was made based on the medical evidence supplied at the time of her application for Carer's Benefit.
