My most recent meeting with the Chief Executive of Waterways Ireland was at the North South Ministerial Council meeting in inland waterways sectoral format, which was held in Armagh on 26th May last. This was the eleventh meeting in inland waterways sectoral format. The agenda for the meeting comprised the following principal items: 1. Waterways Ireland Progress Report 2. Waterways Ireland Business Plan and Budget 2010 3. Restoration of the Clones-Upper Lough Erne Section of the Ulster Canal - Progress Report 4. Shannon/Erne Waterway - presentation by Waterways Ireland 5. Waterways Ireland Annual Report and Draft Accounts 2009 6. Compulsory Purchase Order 7. Date of Next Meeting I am satisfied that Waterways Ireland continues to make satisfactory progress on the objectives in its Strategic and Annual Business Plans.
