Question 597: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills the number of schools that have been broken into in the years 2008 and 2009, on a county basis; the estimated costs of these break-ins; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [28151/10]

The information requested by the Deputy is a matter for each local school management authority. There is no requirement on a school to notify my Department of break-ins. School management authorities are required to have appropriate insurance cover in place to deal with such matters.
