Question 587: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding the Office of Public Work's planned acquisition of lands (details supplied) for a school site, including a likely date for submission of a planning application; if she will confirm that the proposed location is still to the west of the site; if discussions have been held with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government in view of its proximity to a special amenity area order and the likelihood of an extension to same on lands surrounding the school site; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I presume that the school to which the Deputy is referring is St Andrew's National School, Lucan. The OPW are leading the negotiations for the site acquisition on behalf of my Department and I am not in a position to comment further at this time.
