The cost of building and maintenance for most of the properties occupied by my Department is borne by the Office of Public Works. However, Department owns a number of buildings around the country and for the last financial year, 2009, the cost of land maintenance, including light and heat expenditure, is set out in the table: Cost of various services at Department Premises during 2009

The cost of building and land maintenance, including light and heat expenditure of State Bodies is a matter for the Bodies themselves.
* Since Sea Fisheries was subsumed into my Department, the Department now owns and manages six designated Fisheries Harbour Centres (FHCs). The figures for the cost of building and land maintenance, including light and heat expenditure, is €1,919,024 with €319,123of thisfunded from Fishery Harbour Centre Fund.
** Up until 15 January 2010 when responsibility was transferred to the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, my Department had responsibility for all expenditure relating to the Mornington Jetty, Co Louth.
