As the Deputy will be aware, all State property issues, including the acquisition, lease and rental of buildings and accommodation on behalf of Government Departments, are a matter for the Office of Public Works and I must advise the Deputy that my Department does not own any of the properties it currently occupies. For the sake of completeness however, I have provided below the details of the annual costs for building and land maintenance, including light and heat expenditure requested by the Deputy in respect of my Department's accommodation, which the Office of Public Works leases on behalf of my Department: · The total annual cost of building and land maintenance is €126,830. · The total annual cost for the provision of heat is €27,007 and · The total annual cost for the provision of light is €134,815. In relation to the Deputy's request for similar information in relation to bodies/agencies that are funded from my Department's Group of Votes, the Deputy will appreciate that, given that property maintenance and development is a core activity of a number of these bodies, the time and resources required to provide the very detailed and extensive information requested would not, in my view, be commensurate with the benefits arising. If the Deputy, however, has a query in relation to a specific agency or body that is funded from my Department's Group of Votes, I will be glad to have any such specific query responded to.
