I am informed by the Garda authorities that the location referred to is in the Clontarf Garda Sub-District. Local Garda management is aware of one incident of anti-social behaviour having occurred in the area in 2010. I am further informed that the incident referred to by the Deputy had not been reported to An Garda Síochána. A member of the local Community Policing Unit contacted the resident at the location, and the incident is now subject to investigation.

The area is subject to regular patrols by uniform and plain clothes personnel, Including the Community Policing Unit, supplemented by the District Garda Mountain Bike Unit, Detective and Drugs Units, the Divisional Crime Task Force and Traffic Corps personnel. A member of the local Community Policing Unit is allocated specifically to the area referred to and regularly attends meetings with local residents. Local Garda management closely monitors patrols and other operational strategies in place, in conjunction with crime trends and policing needs of communities, to ensure optimum use is made of Garda resources and the best possible Garda service is provided to the public.

Community policing is a central feature and core value of Garda policing policy, and current policing strategies are predicated on the prevention of crime, public order offences and anti-social behaviour. This approach will promote an environment conducive to the improvement of the quality of life for residents.
