I am informed by the Garda authorities that all applicants for Garda trainees are selected by the Public Appointments Service and subsequently undergo a Physical Competency Test, a Medical Examination and also Character Vetting. Applicants who are currently on a panel and have gone through this procedure and are available, will be offered positions as Garda Trainees, in strict order of where they were placed on the panel, upon the resumption of recruitment.
