Question 342: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to previous Parliamentary Questions on this case over the past number of years, if any contact was made with the parents (details supplied) of the child; if a file was submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions; the action or actions that followed; the reason it was left to the parents to pursue and win the case in court with consequent financial outlay; the extent to which matters have progressed on the situation; if social or educational reports were sought or received; the recent developments, related or unrelated, if the perpetrator was recently in court; if a custodial sentence was imposed; the length of the sentence, or sentences; the duration of time served; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
