Question 177: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the total expenses claimed by the Secretary General of his Department in each of the past three years; the amount that has been spent on travel, including foreign travel, and entertainment by them in each of the past three years; if he will provide a detailed breakdown of these costs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The total amount claimed by the Secretary General of my Department in respect of travel, subsistence and entertainment expenses incurred by him in the discharge of his duties in the year to date (1st June 2010) was €1,348; €126 of this amount was in respect of entertainment, €145 was in respect of miscellaneous items and the rest was in respect of expenses incurred in attending meetings involving colleagues from neighbouring jurisdictions. The information sought by the Deputy in respect of the period prior to this year is being collated and validated. It will be supplied to the Deputy when this exercise is completed.
